Ilkley parking review final proposals

Bradford Council have this week formally advertised phase one of the parking proposals it plans to put into operation on the streets of Ilkley.

The plans show residents permit parking only (Mon-Sun 8am-6pm), long and short stay pay and display - some shared with residents permit parking, limited waiting areas, an increase in disabled parking and a new taxi rank outside the railway station.  Most restrictions will be in force 7 days a week.

Following a consultation period, Paul Ratcliffe, Senior Traffic Officer at Bradford Council said ‘comments have now been reviewed and wherever possible incorporated into amended proposals.’

‘While the proposals do not specifically refer to parking associated with businesses operating in Ilkley, wherever possible, parking needs will be considered through the issue of special permits.’

These proposals will be formally advertised for three weeks, with notices erected on all affected streets and will appear in the Ilkley Gazette.  The advertised Order is for on street proposals only, car park proposals will be advertised separately.

The scheme could be introduced in July, before which parking services at Bradford Council would advice residents and businesses on applying for permits, which could be 'virtual permits' as the council is looking to introduce them.

A copy of the draft Orders together with maps showing the affected roads and the Statement of Reasons for proposing to make the Orders may be examined during normal office hours at the Customer Services Reception, Ground Floor, City Hall, Bradford BD1 1HY and at Ilkley Library, Station Road, Ilkley.
