Bradford Council’s Executive approved proposals to invest £100,000 on CCTV in Ilkley town centre at a meeting on Tuesday morning.
The scheme includes a number of high-definition CCTV cameras located within the town centre providing good coverage of the key streets and venues.
The council believes the investment will help bring a reduction in crime, improve evidence for prosecuting offenders and provide assurance to visitors and residents.
Subject to final approved, the proposed locations are:
A65 Leeds Road car park opposite Booths
Junction of A65 Leeds Road / Brook Street / New Brook Street
B6382 Station Road junction with Brook Street
B6382 The Grove (various locations)
South Hawksworth Street Car Park (various locations)
Church St junction with Cunliffe Road
A65 Church Street junction with B6382 Bolton Bridge Road
Subject to the budget other locations may be added.
The Ilkley scheme is part of a Bradford wide replacement, upgrade and extension of CCTV core network infrastructure for the District.
