Creative competition launched to show Ilkley coming together

Ilkley Youth and Community Association launch competition to show Ilkley coming together during coronavirus.

Ilkley Youth and Community Association, supported financially by Bradford Council, is launching a competition to show how Ilkley is staying positive and how, despite the circumstances of the current tragic pandemic, people in the town are coming together. Offering prizes such as a £50 Amazon gift voucher donated by Sturman and Co. who are an Ilkley based award winning Yorkshire Interior Design Studio, a pair of luxury, ethical children’s pyjamas from Woodstock Laundry UK, and a voucher for a climb at Clip 'n Climb Ilkley, the aim is to highlight how brilliantly Ilkley is coming together.

Entries could take the form of either a photo of a positive chalk message on driveways, backyards or on paper, or images or videos of families reading together. Ilkley Youth and Community Association Facebook page will be the hub for the initiative, and the hashtag #Ilkleytogether will help to collate all entries which can also be emailed to iycabookings@gmail.com. To enable as many people as possible to take part, free reading books or chalks are able to be supplied to those wanting to be involved. You can get your free book and/or chalk  by either calling or messaging 07815706277 or emailing iycabookings@gmail.com and IYCA are delighted to be able to purchase some of the equipment from Ilkley businesses such as Olicana Office. If you wish to donate a prize to this competition please email kylegreenilkley@gmail.com or to donate to Ilkley Youth and Community Association please visit www.justgiving.com/crowdfunding/ilkleyschoolequipmentfund to support the ongoing work the registered charity (1021673) does for the Ilkley community. IYCA has recently donated school equipment to 100 children to help them work at home while schools are closed, and will continue to support local children for the duration of the pandemic and beyond.
