Manor House coffee mornings return

The Friday coffee mornings return online with Ilkley Manor House - Mike Dixon will start with 'Darwin in Ilkley' on Friday 29 January at 10.30am.

Charles Darwin came to Ilkley in 1859 to undertake hydropathic treatment at Wells House Hydro. Why did an eminent natural scientist undertake ‘water treatment’ and why at Ilkley – 220 miles from his home in Kent?

This presentation by Mike Dixon covers the critical weeks surrounding the publication of ‘Origin of Species’ in November 1859 and sheds new light on his personality and the possible nature of his enigmatic illness.

This is an online event. You will be sent a link to the Zoom meeting and the password prior to the talk.
