Nicky Harris from Ilkley based The Driving Academy (Yorkshire) has been awarded Yorkshire and Humber 'Driving Instructor Of The Year' at the The Intelligent Instructor Awards 2022.
The awards recognise excellence within the driver training industry, rewarding key industry suppliers, both regional and national driving schools, as well as individual driving instructors from right across the country.
The Driving Instructor of the Year are nominated by their pupils, with the top 100 making the shortlist, who were then be marked by the awards independent judging panel.
Judges commented about Nicky: "This winning instructor stands out from the crowd through their innovative approach. Their clever use of apps ensure the booking and reminder process for the student is as painless as it is efficient. Their adaptable approach feels as though each student has their own tailored programme to help them learn to drive, with road safety being a fundamental part of this".
Nicky has also been placed No 7 out of 100 driving instructors in the country.
Nicky, is a Grade A, ORDIT Driving Instructor & Driving Instructor Trainer, who has 20 years experience and a phenomenally high success rate of helping both new learners achieve their goals and new instructors kickstart their new career.
She is constantly building her team at The Driving Academy, but only with high quality instructors as her school ethos is that “we teach all students to be safe and confident drivers….not just to pass a test, as we want them to be prepared for lifelong safety on the roads”.
