Ilkley Wharfedale Rotary Club have issued a big thank you to the people of Ilkley who helped them raise over £3000 for the Turkey-Syria Earthquake appeal at the weekend, Saturday February 11.
Rotarian Michael Booth, who heads up International Fundraising at the Club, said “It was a wonderful response to these tragic events. Once again the people of Ilkley have responded very generously and we raised £3,150 on the day. We are also very grateful to Tesco for allowing the Club to organise the collection at such short notice. “
Every penny collected will go to the Disasters Emergency Committee and will provide emergency shelters for more than 30 families.
