In the local council elections held on 5th May 2022, the Ilkley seat which was previous held by Conservative Councillor Mike Gibbons, who was sitting as an Independent, was won by the new Conservative candidate Andrew Loy, who was less than 100 votes ahead of Ros Brown of the Green Party.
