Police and government organisations target traffic offences


The A65 between Ilkley and Burley in Whafedale was the focus of 'Operation Steerside' on 27 February.


Last Thursday, officers from Steerside, along with traffic police, the local Neighbourhood Police Team, HM Revenue and Customs (HMRC) and the Driver and Vehicle Standards Agency (DVSA) were targeting traffic offenders.


In a tweet, West Yorkshire Police Keigley confirmed the following were issued:

15 Traffic Offence Reports 1 Driver summonsed to court 2 Vehicle Defect Notices 4 Fixed Penalty Notices 4 Vehicles seized


Plus a number of vehicles were examined by DVSA and HMRC Road Fuel Unit with a variety of defects identified.
