The Friends of Ilkley Rail Station held its Christmas Music and Song on the Station Plaza on Sunday, and even given some inclement weather the event was a great success.
Stephen Thornton, Chair of the Friends group said: “A big thanks to all those who took part providing carols, music and song. A special thanks to Love Pop Choir from Saltaire who sang a double set after a cancellation due to illness.
“We also collected for Candlelighters, the Children's Cancer Charity, and thanks to the generosity of residents and visitors to Ilkley we raised over £600 on the day. Thanks to our friends at Stazione who kept the collectors filled with hot coffee and tea.

“We would like to thank the staff and children of Ben Rhydding Primary, Ashlands Primary, Ghyll Royd, Moorfield, Sacred Hearts schools for attending to their planters on the station in spite of freezing conditions. They look fantastic well done all.
“Until next year, a Merry Christmas to everyone from the Friends of Ilkley Rail Station.”
