Airedale Symphony Orchestra relaunch concert this weekend

Airedale Symphony Orchestra have an exciting relaunch concert happening on Sunday 19 November 3pm at the King's Hall in Ilkley.

Elizabeth Edgington from the orchestra said: “We are a symphony orchestra of amazing musicians from your local community, we have recently rebranded, moved rehearsals from Leeds to Baildon and have a new conductor. We've also got lots of new members from the local area. We want to share what we've been working on with you all, we can't wait to bring great music to our local community.

“We'll be playing the passionate Dvorak Cello Concerto with exciting soloist Douglas Badger, the beyond famous Beethoven 5, and bringing new life to The Oak by Florence Price, a remarkable black American woman composer who was widely unknown during her life and ignored since. The Oak expresses the challenge and delight of her life in music in this deeply beautiful short work - we're certainly listening now...”
