A new neighbourhood café, evening restaurant and wellness studio is set to open this autumn on Cunliffe Road in Ilkley.

Opening in the former Herd premises, ajé will serve coffee, seasonal food and cakes throughout the day, while ajé cellar will offer a curated selection of wines and fine sherries.

The owners are experienced restaurateurs who previously ran successful hospitality businesses in South Africa and have said: "Something beautiful is taking shape in the heart of Ilkley.

"A space for slow mornings, great coffee, quality local food, movement, conversation and community.

"Over the coming weeks we’ll be sharing the journey as this old building becomes something like what you see above.

"We’re so excited to finally welcome you."

Ajé is expected to be open seven days a week, with supper club evenings planned for Fridays and Saturdays.
