Andy's completes 'extended' marathon

Andy dressed as a nurse, police officer, army officer and doctor to complete the challenge

Ilkley fundraiser, Andy Sharpe, completed a public services fancy dress marathon and raised (to date) £2,390 for the Harrogate Hospital & Community Charity.

Over four days, Andy dressed as a nurse, police officer, army officer and doctor to complete the challenge in the main Ilkley car park next to his flat. Andy intended to run 26.2 miles over four days but ended up running a 34 mile marathon due to a measuring error!

On Facebook Andy said: 'What a brilliant four days as the extended 34 mile Public Services Fancy Dress 4 Day Marathon round the square is officially completed.

Thank you so much for all your support, lovely comments and generous donations with the fundraising total currently at £2,390 in support of Harrogate Hospital and Community Charity!

Even bigger thank you to everyone currently working in the public sector, you have my utmost respect and gratitude.❤'

Andy hopes the final total will be closer to £2,500.
