Blooming Ilkley Wheelbarrow Competition brings colour to the town

Ilkley businesses are taking part in the new Blooming Ilkley Wheelbarrow Competition, created through a collaboration between Ilkley Flower Show and Ilkley BID.
Over 20 business has been given a wooden wheelbarrow to transform into a creative window display inspired by the theme Blooming Ilkley. The finished displays are creating a colourful trail around the town ahead of the 67th Ilkley Flower Show on Saturday 19 September at All Saint Church.
Participating businesses are: Abbeyfield, Antich Fine Tailors, Bini Brew, Brook Financial Mayfield View Care Home (Care UK), Erica Berry, 5th Avenue, Flying Duck, Fuggle & Golding, Green Holme Care Home, Grove Bookshop, Ilkley Green Room, Ilkley Shoe Company, Moor Fruit & Veg, Nora’s, Porters, Scope, Searles Carpets, Skipton Building Society, TaxAssist, Tennant & Darragh Jewellery Workshop and The Hearing Suite. Clarendon Art Shop is also supporting the initiative with a special painting display.
Ilkley Flower Show patron Alan Titchmarsh CBE DL VMH will remotely judge the competition, and the public will also have an opportunity to vote for their favourite display in the People’s Choice Award at: https://forms.gle/E3Hhp26nMmcEEVNS7.
Copies of the Ilkley Flower Show programme can be picked up from all the wheelbarrow participants as well as: All Saints Church, Annings, The Art Shop, Bath House, Booths, Bramhope Beauty, Christchurch Café, Dacres, Erica Berry, Home Instead, Ilkley Cinema, Ilkley Library, John Whittam Funeral Directors, Lee Windle, Lishman’s, Moss & Moor, The Old Nursery, Porters, Secret Drawer, The Soap Company, Tesco, The Brewer, Tivoli Place, James Tyler Pet Shop, Unique Barber and Vitello Lounge.
