A charity Pig Race Night in aid of Martin House will be held at Ilkley Rugby Club this month. An exciting event, a pig race night (battery operated not real pigs!) is being organised by the Ilkley Friends of Martin House, to raise money for the children's charity,
Martin House, which is based in Boston Spa, Wetherby, provides hospice care for children across West, North and East Yorkshire. It also provides family led care to children and young people with life-limiting and life -threatening illnesses, either at the Hospice, or in the families' own homes.
The evening will take place on Friday 18th November in the club house. The first race will start at 7.30pm. Tickets for the event cost £10.00 each and this includes a pork or veggie pie and peas supper.
There will be the opportunity to bet on any hog that takes your fancy; a tote betting system will be in operation, with a minimum stake of £1.00 and will be cash only. The Rugby Club bar will be open and will gladly take card payments for all bar sales. There will also be a raffle some of the prizes have kindly been donated by Ilkley businesses. Entry is by ticket only which can be purchased from Ilkley Rugby Club or the Martin House Charity Shop on Brook Street, Ilkley. Over 18s only. Tickets are limited so buy early to avoid disappointment!
