Copper Spoon Cakery is to open a new shop in Ilkley bringing its own style of contemporary cakes to the town this Spring.
Ilkley Business Award Finalists (Micro Business of the Year 2020) Copper Spoon Cakery have been regular stall holders at the Real Food Ilkley market since 2017 and have built a loyal customer base in the town. Now the business is looking to offer a take-away service, selling a delicious selection of cakes, in addition to their bespoke occasion and wedding cakes, at their new premises on the Skipton Road, Ilkley.
Alice Pearson, owner of the Ilkley based cakery says “I am so excited to be expanding the cakery and opening a shop in late Spring. Our customers have been so supportive during lockdown and through our online shop we’ve seen sales of our cakes increase during this time, meaning we need larger premises to meet demand!
Along with cakes the shop will be stocking a range of local, hand-made artisan gifts and homeware.”
For Alice, the opening of the shop means that she can bring her passion for baking, using organic, seasonal ingredients to a wider audience, offering something new and exciting to cake-lovers in the town!
Copper Spoon Cakery also specialise in celebration and bespoke wedding cakes. Alice’s designs, inspired by colours, textures and art are very much in demand, as she explains “At the start of the pandemic many couples postponed or cancelled their wedding. However, now the end of the restrictions are in sight we are seeing bookings for wedding cakes become even busier.
The new shop will mean that we will be able bake and supply more cakes as well as inviting couples to come to visit us for consultations in comfortable surroundings, taste our cakes and discuss their plans for their big day.”
