Could free parking be coming to council owned car parks?

Cllr Stephen Place, the Reform Leader of Bradford Council, has announced parking proposals he will take to the Executive Committee in September.
Talking on social media on Wednesday last week, Cllr Place said: "Since we formed the administration in May this year, there's been a lot of noise about car parking and of course we've been listening."
In the video he then went on to announce three proposed changes to Bradford Council owned car parks, that are subject to ratification in September at the Executive meeting.
The three announcements are:
During the week, if you need to pop and shop, you get one hour's free car parking in Bradford owned car parks.
In the evening, to help the night-time economy, from 6pm onwards car parking will be free.
Leisure centres and certain visitor attractions throughout the school holidays will be completely free to help you take your kids out and have a good day.

In Ilkley, Bradford Council own the main South Hawksworth Street car park, and those on Railway Road, Wharfe View Road, and Ilkley Pool and Lido. Currenlty free, the council also own the Riverside and Ilkley Cow & Calf car parks.
