Could Ilkley have its own Pram/Wheelbarrow Race?

The Rotary Club of Ilkley is exploring a new community event, an Ilkley Pram / Wheelbarrow Race, inspired by Knaresborough’s famous Bed Race.

Teams would race around Ilkley in decorated prams or wheelbarrows, with costumes and fun encouraged. The aim is an inclusive event for people of all ages and abilities, while raising money for charities, supporting local businesses and attracting visitors to the town.

The idea is still at an early stage, and Rotary wants to hear from local people, groups and businesses interested in:

• Sponsoring the event

• Helping organise it

• Entering a team

• Volunteering

• Sharing ideas
