Police are cracking down on people gathering in Ilkley.
Officers had to break up a group gathering on the river bank in Ilkley yesterday (Wednesday) after a fight broke out and have now put a dispersal zone in place in Ilkley town centre which will last until Friday afternoon.
The order gives uniformed officers and PCSOs the power to direct someone to leave the area and not return for a specified period. It also gives officers the powers to remove u16s to their place of residence/safety and the authority to direct them to surrender relevant property.
Anyone who breaks the dispersal order has committed a criminal offence and can face up to three months in prison or a £2,500 fine.
It wasn't just the River Wharfe at Ilkley, residents on social media reported dangerous parking and anti social behavior in both Burley in Wharfedale and Addingham.
So what next for Ilkley?
Following similar scenes three weeks ago, Bradford Council have assigned extra funding to support a new 'hot weather strategy' for Ilkley. Read about those plans here.
