Bin collection on 25 Dec will be emptied earlier on Monday 21 Dec.

Bin collection on 1 Jan, your bin will be emptied on Monday 4 Jan.

Scheduled collections on any other days remain the same as normal.

The Golden Butts household waste recycling centre is closed on Christmas Day, Boxing Day and New Year’s Day but open every other day: Monday to Friday 8am to 5pm, Saturday 8am to 4pm and Sunday 9am to 4pm.

Christmas recycling- what can go in your recycling bin?

Christmas cards - these can be recycled as long as they have no glitter, foil or beads etc. Some local supermarkets and stores will accept your old Christmas cards for their charities.

Wrapping paper - if it is made with a sparkly or plastic coating it cannot be recycled.

Cardboard packaging - make sure all plastic wrapping and polystyrene is removed.

Baking foil, trays and cases - tin foil from wrapping food, foil trays or cases from minced pies and puddings can all be recycled as long as they are free from food and grease.

Wine bottles, beer bottles and cans - these can go all together in your recycling bin.

Christmas trees - these can be taken to your local household waste recycling centre or chopped up and put in your garden waste bin.

Manorlands will once again be running its collection service between 5th - 12th January 2021, let Manorlands save you the hassle of getting rid of your Christmas tree, in exchange for a donation. Book online at


Services on the Wharfedale Line will not run on Christmas Day or Boxing Day and a reduced service will be in operation on New Year’s Eve and New Year’s Day.


No services are running Christmas Day or New Years Day, some are running a Boxing Day service.

Many are running reduced services between Christmas and New Year, please check the operators website, we have listed them below.

Metro are advising people to use its journey planner to check bus times between 24 December to 3 January 2021.

Bradford Council have confirmed there will be no residents permit enforcement on Christmas Day, Boxing Day and New Year’s Day.

Street 'Pay and Display' charges don't apply on bank holidays, so you can park Christmas Day, Boxing Day and New Year's Day with no charge.

Charges do still apply in the car parks on bank holidays according to the council website - check machines.
