Exploring Ilkley Manor House: A morning talk and family fun this Saturday

This Saturday, 11 April, Ilkley Manor House is hosting two events, a talk and free family fun.
The first in the morning is a talk, Keeping the Manor House Warm, by local historian Alex Cockshott.
A spokesperson said:
"Have you ever wondered how such a building was heated during different phases of its use? Alex will present how the Manor House was heated throughout the centuries.
"The talk will discuss how the Old Castle (now Manor House) has been heated through the centuries, from its early days as a single residence through the time of the five tenancies.
"Join us to learn about Keeping the Manor House warm!"
The talk is between 10:30-11.30am and is £4 per person, bookable via ilkleymanorhouse.org
In the afternoon, the next free family fun drop-in event will look at Victorian Costumes. Children and their parents and carers will be able to dress as a Victorian, play with toys and make costumes for Victorian figures.
This drop-in event is between 2pm and 3:30pm, no booking required.
Ilkley Manor House is open weekends 11am until 4pm [except for special events]. Currently on his display is the Nature of Daylight exhibition in the Solar Gallery and the Make Photographs, Share Stories exhibition, a unique exhibition showcasing the work created by participants in our spring photography workshops.
