A chance for Ilkley families to declutter and swap

Swap & Play Wharfedale is inviting local families to The Big Swap Day — a relaxed afternoon of swapping, playing and connecting.

Based behind Booths in the Drill Hall Business Centre in Ilkley, Swap & Play Wharfedale launched earlier this year and offers a membership-based indoor play space for families with young children.

The free event is taking place between 2pm and 4:30pm on Sunday 20 September, and is designed to give children’s things a new lease of life while helping families declutter, save money and meet other local families.

Families can bring good-quality children’s clothes, shoes, toys, books and baby/toddler equipment their children have outgrown, then browse and take home items brought by others.

Swap & Play Wharfedale say "Children grow out of things quickly, but often there is absolutely nothing wrong with them. Passing them directly to another local family keeps them in use for longer, while giving families the chance to find things they might otherwise have had to buy.

"The event is intended to be as much about spending time together as it is about swapping.

Children can play while parents chat over coffee and cake, making it a relaxed afternoon for local families to meet and connect."

The Big Swap Day is free to attend, families are asked to RSVP via Facebook or the Swap & Play website.
