Festival to offer a feast of food, drink and entertainment

The Ilkley Food and Drink Festival will return to East Holmes Field on 12-13 June 2021, ready to celebrate local businesses, international bars and cuisine, talented chefs and live entertainment.

With only two weeks to go, The Ilkley Food and Drink Festival will be returning to East Holmes Field on 12-13 June 2021. The festival is a celebration of international cuisine, with independent bars and breweries, an expansive artisan market featuring local produce, craft and wellbeing businesses, a main stage with live music, entertainers and performers, and an extensive children’s activities programme.

A variety of the most popular UK street food traders will be cooking up a feast all weekend, including traditional Greek, Italian, Indian and American cuisine, alongside modern twists on Japanese and Chinese dishes. Pizza, burgers and even Yorkshire pudding wraps will also be featuring on the menu, with most traders also offering a vegan or vegetarian option.

The Artisan Market will be showcasing over 50 local business owners and independent traders selling health and wellbeing products, handmade gifts, crafts, clothes and art, and a selection of brownies, cakes, flapjacks, cheesecakes, pies, sauces, alcoholic drinks, plus much more.

Local bar traders will also be returning to the festival, with specialty wine, cocktails and prosecco, as well as Ilkley Brewery serving up their own beverages on draught.

For attendees looking for some exciting food related activities, The Cookery Theatre will be taking center stage after it’s initial success in 2019, with support from Leeds Cookery School and Yorkshire Food Guide. Experienced chefs from across the region will be presenting original dishes and entertaining attendees with five performances a day, including MasterChef Semi-Finalist Anthony O’Shaugnessy, award-winning chef Bruce Elsworth, owner of Elsworth Kitchen and Peter Howarth, head chef at the 3 AA Rosette The Burlington at The Devonshire Arms.

The foodie family festival has also prepared a number of activities for the little ones, including magic shows, kids entertainment and animal exhibits that encourage the whole family to get involved.

As always, the backdrop to what is set to be a fantastic weekend in Ilkley is the Main Stage, with deck chairs for attendees to lounge on while enjoying fantastic performances from the likes of Will Forrester, an experienced saxophonist of over 30 years, and The Yorkshire Puddings, a comedy duo musical act, plus many more varieties and performances over the weekend.

Ilkley Food and Drink Festival is partnered with charity MIND and will be helping to raise money for their Bradford team, who support those suffering with mental health difficulties.

With a free car park, excellent transport links, and dogs welcome, thousands are expected join the riverside feast on East Holmes Field, on June 12-13, 2021.
