The first look at proposed pedestrian social distancing measures to be introduced in Ilkley town centre have been posted on the Ilkley BID website today.
Plans show how tape and stenciling will be used to mark the floor together with signage. Waste bins will be moved where necessary to make more space and there will be something to aid crossing the road at the end of The Grove near Nora’s gift shop.
Social distancing measures are focused on limiting the potential for Covid-19 transmission and enabling effective social distancing, which will help people to get out and about with confidence while complying with the rules.
Shipley town centre has been the first in the district to have measures introduced, but in a contained area, allowing for checks that they are working before they are rolled out more widely.
Once introduced, the public are asked to look out across the district for signage explaining new measures, and cones and new markings on the pavement to co-ordinate social distancing.
The above can be downloaded as PDF files via the BID website, links below, there is also a document with details of LS29 district social distancing measures.
