Local community group Friends of Wharfedale Greenway are inviting people to join them for a public meeting on Thursday 21st October at 7.30pm.
The meeting will look at what activities the group has been doing since it was set up earlier this year, and then discuss the group’s priorities for the next year.
The group’s chair, Antony Butcher, said, “We’ve been amazed at the positive response we’ve had since setting up the group, both online and at the information stands we’ve hosted along the valley. We’re excited to discuss ideas for how we can keep raising support for the project over the next year”.
The meeting will take place on Zoom - the link to join is on the group’s Facebook page (www.facebook.com/friendsofwharfedalegreenway) and can also be requested by emailing friendsofwharfedalegreenway@gmail.com.
The group was set up to raise awareness of the Greenway along the valley and demonstrate the support that the project enjoys. Planning for the Wharfedale Greenway is being led by a steering group of Town and Parish Councils along the route, with local authorities, West Yorkshire Combined Authority, and Sustrans. The Wharfedale Greenway is a planned route for walking, cycling and horse riding along Wharfedale, from Pool in Wharfedale to Bolton Abbey with a spur to Menston.
