The Friends of Wharfedale Greenway (FOWG) held an online public meeting this week to launch the group’s website and membership scheme. FOWG support the vision of creating a long traffic free Greenway corridor that will be perfect for getting active.
The website has some key features, developed to keep the public and supporters informed about FOWG, the progress of the Wharfedale Greenway, the vision of the group and current planning status.
The website can be found at friendsofwharfedalegreenway.org.uk
A spokesperson for FOWG said: “The site also has details of how you can get involved helping us to support the project. We rely on volunteers to help us raise awareness of the project and ensure that we can make the most of this exciting opportunity. At the moment our main demand for volunteers is to help organise and staff our summer events programme, distribute posters and lead practical maintenance sessions, however we welcome support from anyone who can help us in anyway.
“We are starting a supporter’s scheme from the 1 April 2022 which is open to individuals and corporate supporters who wish to endorse our campaign for better active travel infrastructure in the Wharfe valley. Individual support starts at £10 per year while we ask for a donation from corporate supporters who will be acknowledged on our website“.
