Gardening galore at Ilkley Manor House’s Spring Fair

The Ilkley Manor House’s inaugural Spring Fair is coming in May and will ideal for anyone of any age on the hunt for plants to spruce up their home or who loves nature and learning about wildlife.

A spokesperson for Ilkley Manor House said: "Join us from 10am to 5pm on Saturday, 11 May when the courtyard will be buzzing with activity. East Riddlesden Hall, Gledstone Gardens, and Three Pools Nursery will sell a variety of specialist plants, including trees, shrubs, flowers, and vegetables.

"Tom Bromley of Burnt Orchid will showcase his hand-forged, high-quality gardening tools and accessories. Learn about our fuzzy friends with Wharfedale Beekeepers Association and participate in our plant-swap stall, where visitors can exchange plants and chat with fellow nature enthusiasts!

"Let the kids get their hands dirty at our plant-bedding station. Bring along old mugs or similar small pots suitable for planting. Not only will children learn new skills but they can also take their creations home!

"If that wasn’t enough fun, families can also join in our annual maypole dancing from 2 to 3pm! Skip along to the music and try to create patterns with colourful ribbons.

"Afterwards, visitors can purchase drinks from our refreshments table and relax in the courtyard to the beautiful strains of the Wharfe Quartet, who are performing in the afternoon."

No booking is required for any of the activities on 11 May and the House will be open as usual for the public to explore.
