Hat-trick of businesses opening on Leeds Road

Three independent businesses are opening their doors in Ilkley after signing five-year leases on vacant Leeds Road units. The three adjacent commercial units, 9b, 11a and 11b, were successfully brought to the market by Dacres Commercial for two separate clients.

Unit 11 was formerly occupied by betting shop, Betfred, but the owners were advised to divide the unit up into two smaller offerings. Surveyor, Hedley Steel from Dacres Commercial said: "Leeds Road is proving very popular with independent businesses looking for a great high street presence on the busy route in and out of the town. It made sense for our client to adapt the larger unit to meet that demand. The smaller unit gained plenty of interest from the moment we launched it and was taken by Naked Nails."

Bairstow Vickers, a local development and building firm has taken 11a Leeds Road and will be showcasing its work through the highly visible high street window. The firm will also use the building as its office space.

Brotherhood Barber Shop will soon be open for business from 11b Leeds Road. The company already has two other shops offering a unique personal grooming experience and is keen to ensure that the business quickly becomes a part of the Ilkley community by providing a range of high-end services at an affordable price. Partner in the business, Andrew David, who has family ties to the area, said: "We were keen to launch in Ilkley because despite there already being a number of existing options, we pride ourselves in offering value to our customers without compromising on quality."

Leeds Road in Ilkley has been an important thoroughfare for hundreds of years. With a host of businesses serving local residents, Leeds Road is already home to many popular shops and cafes including Lishman's of Ilkley butchery and charcutiers, The Gilded Grape wine shop, The Corner House Interiors, Aphrodite Beauty Salon, Bluebird Travel and more.
