Ideal Extraction shortlisted in prestigious awards
Ilkley engineering company Ideal Extraction Ltd is celebrating after being named a finalist in the ‘Best Micro Business (up to 10 employees)’ category at the Yorkshire Post Business Awards 2026.
Based at the International Development Centre in Ilkley, Ideal Extraction specialises in the design and installation of bespoke dust and fume extraction systems, primarily for the woodworking sector. The company also provides maintenance and testing services to help manufacturers keep their operations running efficiently and meet their health and safety obligations.
Now in their 21st year, the Yorkshire Post Business Awards are one of the region’s leading annual business awards, recognising businesses and individuals making a significant contribution to Yorkshire’s economy.
Ideal Extraction Co-Director Helen Rhodes said the team was delighted to have been shortlisted: “We’re incredibly proud to be named as a finalist, particularly knowing the strength of businesses across Yorkshire and that the shortlist was selected by an independent judging panel.
“We’ve grown rapidly over the past three years and are now a team of 10, which has increased our capacity to take on new projects and support more businesses with their dust and fume extraction requirements. This recognition is a real highlight of what has been another significant year for the business.
“It will be fantastic to celebrate alongside the other micro-business finalists on the night, as well as some of Yorkshire’s best-known businesses, including Morrisons and Jet2, which have been shortlisted in other categories.”

The winners of the Yorkshire Post Business Awards 2026 will be announced at a black-tie ceremony at New Dock Hall in Leeds on Wednesday 11 November.
