Ilkley author launches 13th book – The Great Northern Quiz Book

Ilkley author and quizmaster Joe Varley is celebrating the publication of his 13th book, The Great Northern Quiz Book, with a launch quiz night.

Packed with 2,500 questions about the North of England, the book covers everything from history and culture to sport, food, music and much more. Publisher HarperCollins has described Joe as “Yorkshire’s premier quiz author.”

The book will be launched at a special quiz night at Fuggle & Golding in Ilkley, on Monday 26 October at 7pm. Running from 7–9pm, the event will feature a wide variety of Northern-themed questions, with prizes for first and second place, as well as the coveted “wooden spoon” for the team finishing last.

Tickets are £15 per person including a copy of the book, which normally retails at £12.99, or £10 without the book. Each ticket also includes one beer or glass of fizz.

Varley describes The Great Northern Quiz Book as “the definitive trivia source for Northerners.”
