Ilkley BID Voluntary Membership to benefit more LS29 businesses

Ilkley BID Manager Helen Rhodes

An increased interest from local businesses has prompted Ilkley BID to offer a voluntary membership scheme to LS29 businesses who previously were not eligible due to their size or location.

The BID was formed in June 2019 after more than a year of consultations with local businesses and is in the second year of it’s 5 year business plan, which is dedicated to promoting the town and improving the trading environment for businesses through ongoing support, lobbying and the delivery of programmes, projects and services.

Helen Rhodes, BID Manager said “The voluntary membership is a great opportunity for more businesses to have access to some of the many benefits that the BID offers. If you are based in the LS29 area and operate in business premises with a listed rateable value or are registered at Companies House, then you qualify for a voluntary membership.

More businesses became aware of Ilkley BID through being promoted in our Ilkley To You campaign which ran during lockdown, advertising businesses who were offering take-away and delivery services. We’ve also had a number of enquiries from businesses who want to feature on the place promotion app, LoyalFree”

Local businesses not meeting the criteria can still benefit from affordable advertising packages which will be offered as part of the Discover Ilkley project, due to launch in November 2020.
