Ilkley care home residents challenge local community to games night showdown

With autumn in full swing, a care home in Ilkley is inviting the local community to come together for an evening of fun, games, and friendly competition to celebrate the simple joys of traditional games.
Care UK’s Mayfield View, on Lower Railway Road, will host a vintage games night on Thursday 15 October from 6pm, inviting families, friends and neighbours to enjoy retro games, refreshments, traditional music and a 1950s Cluedo theme.
The event is part of Care UK’s nationwide Bored Games initiative, celebrating traditional board games and encouraging communities to reconnect through fun, laughter and shared memories.
Katie Cliff, Home Manager at Mayfield View, said the event would bring people of all ages together, spark conversations and revive treasured memories of family games nights. She encouraged everyone, from board game enthusiasts to those simply seeking a fun evening, to attend.
