VARIOUS OTLEY 800 ROLES – OTLEY TOWN COUNCIL

Otley 800 (May 2027 – June 2028) is a year-long celebration of the 800th anniversaries of the oldest surviving mention of Otley Market and the building of the current Otley Bridge. To commemorate these significant dates, the town will put on a series of events - the majority community organised but including four significant projects organised either by the Council or by our partners. Funding will come from Otley Town Council and from a successful National Lottery Heritage Fund Bid.

PROGRAMME MANAGER

The Programme Manager will oversee the development and delivery of the Otley 800 programme, ensuring that the celebration is true to the events which inspired it, is safely and successfully delivered and involves a large and diverse cross-section of the community.

COMMUNICATIONS LEAD

The Communications & Publicity Lead will undertake a hands-on role that combines strategic oversight alongside day-to-day delivery, reporting directly to the Programme Manager.

DIGITAL CONTENT CREATOR

The Digital Content Creator will plan, design and edit records of each major Otley 800 event and project in film, audio and representative visual images. These will be combined with participant and organiser footage from other events to produce an exciting record of the Otley 800 programme.

OTLEY 800 TAPESTRY PROJECT

We are seeking to assist with the appointment of two roles to deliver the Otley 800 Tapestry, a participatory textile project. The tapestry is expected to be designed as a stitched textile artwork suitable for community participation. These roles will be appointed directly to the Otley 800 Tapestry CIC.

TAPESTRY PROJECT LEAD

The Project Leader will provide overall leadership and coordination for the creation and delivery of a lasting community artwork that reflects Otley’s heritage and supports participation from local residents, groups and young people.

TAPESTRY LEAD ARTIST/FACILITATOR

The Tapestry Lead Artist / Facilitator to design, coordinate and deliver the Otley 800 Tapestry, working closely with a volunteer workforce.

Would you like to help your local community and join the friendly team at Ilkley Community Transport? We are a registered charity based in Ilkley and are always looking for CAR DRIVERS to provide lifts primarily to medical appointments for residents in the Ilkley and Addingham area who find public transport difficult to access due to age, illness or disability. Volunteers use their own cars and claim expenses for fuel at a pre-agreed rate. Drivers must be over 21, and have held a full licence for at least 2 years.
