Ilkley estate agent reports strong summer sales

Dacre, Son & Hartley’s Ilkley office recorded an 82% increase in home sales during July and August, compared with the same period last year, as Yorkshire’s property market enjoyed a busy summer.
The Ilkley-headquartered estate agent also agreed 32% more home sales across its 17-office network in August compared with August 2025, following a 12% increase in July.
Patrick McCutcheon, head of residential at Dacre, Son & Hartley in Ilkley, said: “The housing market has been through a turbulent year, with economic and political uncertainty denting confidence. However, as the year has progressed, motivated buyers and sellers have decided to move ahead, with their housing needs taking priority. As a result, we’ve enjoyed a busy summer, selling hundreds of homes in July and August, particularly in the core and more affordable sectors.
Patrick add that heading into autumn, they are seeing no shortage of demand for realistically and competitively priced homes: We’re also seeing good volumes of properties coming to market following the summer, which is likely to drive further interest from potential buyers, with September and October traditionally among our busiest trading months.”
