Ilkley Great Get Together needs your blue tokens

The Ilkley Great Get Together, the group behind free school meals for local families during school holidays, has been chosen for the latest round of Tesco’s Fruit & Veg Grants.

The program offers community projects grants of up to £1,500, and the group is urging shoppers to vote to help secure funding for the coming year.

From August to November, Tesco customers can vote at the Ilkley superstore and Express store. The total number of votes determines how much funding the project will receive, with the aim of continuing and expanding support for local children and families.

Every project shortlisted for the vote receives funding, but a vote using a blue token will make the difference to just how much funding each project receives – up to £500, £1,000 or £1,500.

The Ilkley Great Get Together [IGGT} currently supports more than 240 children in Ilkley and Addingham by providing food parcels and vouchers during school holidays and the winter months. The project relies on community backing to keep its services running and to reach more families who rely on these holiday meals.

Becky Malby from IGGT said: "If you are a Tesco customer please vote for us in the Ilkley store August to November as your vote determines how much funding we get. Please support us next time you shop at Tesco!"

Along with Ilkley Great Get Together, the two groups who will benefit in this round of funding are Glasshouses Community Primary School and The Sibling Group.

Voting in this round ends 30 November 2026
