Ilkley-headquartered Dacres raises £3,300+ for children's charity
Dacre, Son & Hartley, headquartered in Ilkley, has joined forces with three Yorkshire businesses to raise more than £3,300 for The Principle Trust Children’s Charity after completing the Yorkshire Three Peaks challenge.
On Thursday 17th September, a team of colleagues from across the business, including Ilkley, Skipton, Otley, Baildon, Settle and Knaresborough, were joined by staff from iamproperty, Kempston Parkes Chartered Surveyors and Mortgage Advice Bureau to put their determination to the test, covering 24 miles and climbing more than 5,200 feet.
Following a tough but rewarding day, the team raised over £3,300. The funds will go directly to The Principle Trust Children’s Charity, supporting its work to provide free respite breaks for children across Yorkshire facing adversity, including trauma, abuse, poverty, serious illness, disabilities and, increasingly, mental health challenges.
With its headquarters in Ilkley, Dacre, Son & Hartley has deep roots in Yorkshire and a long-standing connection with the communities it serves. The Three Peaks challenge builds on the business’s growing fundraising efforts for The Principle Trust, following last year’s 15.5-mile sponsored walk along the Liverpool & Leeds Canal.
That experience gave colleagues a greater insight into the charity’s vital work and the difference it makes to families across the region. Having previously tackled Pen-y-ghent as a standalone challenge in 2024, the team decided to take things a step further this year by completing all three peaks — Pen-y-ghent, Whernside and Ingleborough — in a single day.
The incredible £3,300 raised is enough to fund a week-long holiday for five families, offering them the chance to rest, reset, reconnect and make memories that last.

The event was such a success that we were keen to build on that momentum and do something even bigger this year. It’s a tough challenge but knowing every step the team took was helping raise money to support children and families across Yorkshire facing adversity kept morale high.”
