The Ilkley Pride & Diversity Group has proudly announced a vibrant programme of events throughout June 2026 to celebrate Pride Month and mark a major milestone - 5 years of Pride in Ilkley.
Since its launch in 2021, Pride in Ilkley has grown into a much-loved annual celebration of inclusion, visibility, community, and support for LGBTQ+ people across Wharfedale and beyond. This year’s anniversary programme promises a welcoming mix of community gatherings, celebration, and entertainment for all ages.
The celebrations begin with the group’s continued partnership with Keighley Pride on Saturday 13 June, reflecting the twinning relationship between the two Pride organisations and their shared commitment to equality and inclusion across the district.

Kian Tscherniga, one of the founding members of Keighley Pride, said: “Over the years, I’ve had the privilege of working closely alongside both the Keighley Pride and Ilkley Pride committees, helping to build a strong relationship between the two organisations and the communities they represent. It’s been fantastic to see how both events have continued to grow, bringing people together to celebrate diversity, inclusion, and equality across the district.
"Reaching five years of Pride in Ilkley is a significant milestone and a real testament to the hard work, dedication, and support from volunteers, performers, local businesses, and the wider community. We’re proud to continue supporting one another and strengthening Pride visibility across the area.”

On Sunday 14 June, supporters are invited to take part in a Pride Walk, meeting at 2pm outside the Riverside Hotel in Ilkley. The walk will follow a scenic route along the River Wharfe, through Middleton Woods, before descending back towards the riverside, offering participants the chance to come together in solidarity, visibility, and celebration while enjoying some of Ilkley’s best-loved landscapes.
The programme continues on Sunday 21 June with a relaxed Coffee & Cake afternoon at 2pm at Vitello Lounge, creating space for conversation, friendship, and community connection.
The Ilkley Pride Celebration Day takes place on Saturday 27 June 2026 at the King’s Hall & Winter Garden, running from 12pm to 6:30pm and bringing together a full day of live performances, entertainment, community stalls, food, and inclusive activities celebrating LGBTQ+ life in the heart of Ilkley.

The day begins with the Pride Flag Raising ceremony at 11:30am on Brook Street, before the main festival-style event opens at King’s Hall, featuring a vibrant programme designed to welcome people of all ages to celebrate equality, diversity, and togetherness in a positive and uplifting atmosphere, followed by an official Pride after-party at The Yard from 8pm into the evening. Tickets for the Pride Celebration Day are available via Eventbrite
Damien Kearns, Mayor of Ilkley, said: “Pride in Ilkley has become an important and valued part of our town’s community calendar. Over the last five years it has helped foster a spirit of inclusion, respect, and celebration for people from all backgrounds. I’m delighted to support this year’s events and encourage residents and visitors alike to join in the celebrations.”

A spokesperson for the Ilkley Pride & Diversity Group added: “Reaching five years of Pride in Ilkley is an incredibly proud moment for everyone involved. What started as a small community initiative has become an important annual celebration of diversity, inclusion, and belonging. We’re excited to welcome residents and visitors alike to join us throughout June as we celebrate how far we’ve come together.”
All events are open and welcoming to the wider community, with organisers encouraging people of all backgrounds to come along and show their support.
