Ilkley Remembrance parade and service details outlined

Ilkley Town Council has announced that its annual Remembrance parade and service will be held on Sunday 8th November 2026.

Remembrance events are an opportunity to officially remember the service and sacrifice of all those that have defended our freedoms and protected our way of life.

This year’s service will commence at 3pm at Ilkley’s Memorial Gardens and will be led by Father Tim Swinglehurst, the Parish Priest at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Ilkley, SS John Fisher & Thomas More in Burley-in-Wharfedale and Our Lady and English Martyrs; Addingham

If you would like to take part in the parade before the service, which will include local dignitaries, members of the armed forces, and uniformed and civic organisations, please assemble on Whitton Croft Road from 2:20pm. The parade will progress in front of the Town Hall, then make its way along The Grove and into Ilkley’s Memorial Gardens in time for 3pm. A road closure will be in place along the route.

All are welcome at the Memorial Gardens and there will be an opportunity to lay your wreath at the end if you wish. A collection will be held during the service for the Royal British Legion.
