Ilkley Town Council’s Community Engagement and Partnerships Committee has agreed to award grants to two local organisations in support of important community improvements.
A grant of £1,830 has been awarded to All Saints Pre-School to fund fencing for the outdoor play area, helping to improve the safety and usability of the space for local children.
The Council has also resolved to award £2,846 to Ilkley Town AFC towards repairs to the walkway, subject to confirmation that the replacement surface will be permeable and durable.
These awards reflect the Town Council’s ongoing commitment to supporting local groups and investing in projects that benefit the wider community.
Ilkley Town Mayor, Councillor Jane Gibson said:
“We are pleased to support both All Saints Pre-School and Ilkley Town AFC with these grants. These projects will make a positive difference locally, improving facilities for children, families and the wider community.”
Joe McTigue, Commercial Officer at Ilkley Town AFC, said:
"We are hugely grateful to Ilkley Town Council for this award. Fully fixing the approach path to the pitch is one of the most important improvements that we need to make at Ben Rhydding, and it will make a significant difference to all who use it."
Applications for up to £3,000 can be made to the Community Engagement and Partnerships Committee or the Green Spaces, Environment and Sustainability Committee and are considered at two meetings of the committees each year.
