Ilkley Town Council funds free play in the park sessions

Free ‘Play In The Park’ sessions will return in Ilkley throughout the summer.

Following on from the successful events in 2022, Ilkley Town Council has again agreed to fund free play sessions for Ilkley residents and visitors to enjoy in the Riverside Gardens.

The play scheme is being organised by Bradford Council’s Community Play and Activities Development Service and is run by experienced and qualified staff.

Activities available will include bouncy castles, one for under 5’s and one for over 5’s, swing ball, rounders, mini football, and a mini golf putting green plus giant snakes and ladders, giant connect four, space hoppers and lots more.

This year, the play scheme is taking place between 11am and 3pm on the following dates: Mondays 24th & 31st July and 7th, 14th & 21st and Wednesday 30th August.

A spokesperson for Ilkley Town Council said: “Last year, Ilkley Town Councillors who visited the play sessions commented about how proud they had felt that the Council had teamed up with Bradford Council to provide this event free of charge for everyone to enjoy; the fact that the event was free for families to take part in was very much appreciated.

“We are hoping that all the sessions will be well attended again this year so that children, parents, and carers can have fun together and enjoy all the different activities in a safe and attractive setting.

“So, if you want to have some fun with the kids this summer, bring them down to the Riverside Gardens and enjoy the free play in the park scheme.”
