Climate Action Ilkley intends to open a Library of Things in Ilkley early next year.
Like a library of books, a Library of Things (LoT) lends various physical items to its members in the local community. It will be a not-for-profit venture and is being funded with a grant from Comply Direct.
A spokesperson for Climate Action Ilkley said: “We plan to have a wide range of items which can be useful and practical, but also fun and entertaining. Using a Library of Things saves you money and space, and helps to build a strong sharing community.
“We are asking the people of Ilkley to help make the Library of Things as useful as possible to them by filling in a survey.”
The 10 categories of items which will be available to loan are:
Arts and Crafts– from sewing machines to glue guns
Baby and Children – from pushchairs to baby mobiles
Events – from projector screens to bunting
DIY – from drills to ladders
Gardening tools – from lawnmowers to hedge trimmers
Household and Garden – from vacuum cleaners to hammocks
Kitchen Equipment – from blenders to jam pans
Leisure and Camping – from tents to metal detectors
Music, Media and Audio/Visual – from guitars to speakers
Sports and Games – from golf clubs to roller blades
The link for the survey is here.
Climate Action Ilkley would like to reach as wide an audience for the survey as possible.
