Throughout August, a collection painting by local artist Tony Dexter will be showcased at The Weaverbird Workshop in Ilkley.
Eight paintings will be exhibited, each are 76 x 76cm (30” x 30”), painted in acrylic on canvas, varnished and signed.

Tony commented: “I’m delighted to have the opportunity to show my work at Weaverbird.
“My artwork reflects a variety of subjects such as old boats, broken barns and timeworn Scottish crofts in a vibrant and cotemporary way. Crumbling and weather distressed subjects may seem a sad sight but their flaking paint, exposed wood, stonework bring a variety of colour and attraction. There’s a beauty in their continued existence reminding us a way of life, a past history or even a holiday memory.”
Weaverbird is on Wells Road in Ilkley [LS29 9JD] and owner Philippa Enever said: ”We are delighted to invite Tony’s work which is eye-catching, colourful and distinctive. There are a variety of subjects for both our customers and visitors alike.”
You can visit Weaverbird Monday to Saturday between 10am and 4pm.
