Do you know a young woman who deserves recognition for volunteering her services in the community? Soroptimist International of Ilkley and Ilkley Fairtrade Group are delighted to announce the return of their ‘Inspiring Woman’ Award Event.
Celebrating 80 years of SI Ilkley and 30 years of the Fairtrade Mark, nominations are wanted for women volunteers aged between 16 and 25 living and/or working in the LS29 area.
A spokesperson said: “If you know of any young woman in this category who volunteers to help others in the community, please nominate her - telling us in 500 words or less why you feel this person deserves to be recognised as an inspiring volunteer.
“Please include a description of their volunteering, where it takes place, who it helps, how long they have volunteered in this way, the reason they volunteer, and what impact they have made.”
Anyone nominating is asked to inform the nominee of their nomination.
The Inspiring Woman Award Event will take place at the Clarke Foley Community Hub on Thursday 14th March at 7.30pm. All the nominees will be recognised & celebrated, and the overall Award winner will receive a special prize.
A form can be downloaded from www.sigbi.org/ilkley or collected in person from The Clarke Foley Community Hub in Ilkley, The Hub in Addingham, and Burley and Menston Community Libraries.
The deadline for nominations is 22nd February 2024.
