Ilkley Town Council will have a stall the Real Food Ilkley on The Grove on Sunday, 4 September, 11am until 3pm.
Town Councillors will be present on the stall throughout the day whilst the market is running, and hope to have conversations with residents in a friendly and informal setting.
On its Facebook page the Town Council said: "Information about current and future activities and projects will be on display, and Town Councillors will be available to discuss issues of concern about the local environment and community, including the recently adopted Ilkley Neighbourhood Development Plan, the Climate and Ecological Emergency Declaration, toilet refurbishment, plans to encourage active travel and road safety, engagement with young people, and how your Council has been spending precept-payers’ funds.
"The next Town Council election (at which all 14 councillor positions will be open for election) will take place in May 2023. To remain representative of the local community and to continue to serve the town with the current range of environmental and community engagement projects, Ilkley needs new councillors to stand for election. If you are passionate about our town and its people and might be interested in becoming a Town Councillor, come along to the stall and we would be delighted to explain what is involved.
"Please come along at any time between 10 am and 3pm to visit the stall and enjoy the market. If you are unable to come but would like to ask a question about the Town Council, you can email email@example.com. We can put you in touch with somebody who will try to help."
