GP practices in Ilkley have taken to social media to thank the response to an appeal to borrow or hire a pop up tent or marquee that would provide GP cover when seeing patients in their car during the current Covid-19 Coronavirus pandemic.
Jo Shepheard, the Practice Manager at Ilkley Moor Medical Practice, contacted lkley Chat last week asking to share the appeal on behalf of IG Medical and Ilkley & Wharfedale Medical Practices based at the Springs Lane Medical Centre. The response was immediate with many offers of help.
Two Ilkley businesses, J.A.Peniket Builders and Yorkshire Hot Tubs, had erected temporary marquees within days so the practices can offer this service to patients immediately.
Thanking all those who offered help, the IG Medical Facebook page said:
'Big shout out from IG Medical and Ilkley & Wharfedale Medical Practice to J.A.Peniket Builders and Yorkshire Hot Tubs for the loan of their marquees. Thanks for their cheerfulness, speed and efficiency putting these up at the Health Centre on a Bank Holiday.'
