Starting this Saturday, August 8, Browns the Greengrocers will be pitching up at the Ilkley Outdoor Market on The Grove.
They will be trading opposite Bettys from 9am–4pm as part of a special four-week trial.
Since 1892, Browns the Greengrocers has been proudly supplying the finest fresh fruit and vegetables to local communities. Now in its fifth generation, the family-run business is delighted to be bringing that same passion, quality and personal service to Ilkley Outdoor Market.
This isn’t supermarket produce. This is hand-picked quality, sourced with care, and sold by a family who truly know the trade. If the trial proves successful, Browns will become a regular Saturday trader at Ilkley Market.
A spokesperson for Browns the Greengrocers said: “This is a huge opportunity for us, and we’d absolutely love the support of the Ilkley community. As a fifth-generation family business that’s been trading since 1892, we’re incredibly proud to bring our passion for fresh, quality produce to Ilkley Market. We hope people will come down, say hello and experience the difference that comes from buying from an independent family greengrocer. If the four-week trial is a success, we’d be delighted to make Ilkley Market our regular Saturday home.”
Cllr Ian Walker, Bradford Council’s Executive Member for Neighbourhoods and Communities said: “It’s fantastic news for the people of Ilkley to have a new trader on board at their local market. A new product offer always helps us to diversify the range available in our markets and encourages more local shopping.
“We are really pleased to see the retail offer in our markets going from strength to strength.’’
