Two illegal off-road vehicles which have damaged the path and habitat on Ilkley Moor have been removed today (Monday 1 August) by police and enquires are on going to identify the owners.
They were located west of the 12 Apostle Stones. The vehicles were on a section of path that was too narrow for the vehicles to use. Witnesses report that there were a group of males with the vehicles, one wearing a balaclava.
CBMDC Countryside and Rights Of Way Team said; "thanks to WY Police Operation Steerside for removing and impounding them so swiftly. Enquiries ongoing to identify owners and offences. We are looking to prosecute for criminal damage."
