A small group of Ilkley residents are trying to progress a new Pétanque Court in the Ilkley Riverside Memorial Gardens, not far from the Riverside Hotel.
Pétanque is a sport that falls into the category of boules sports, in which players or teams play their boules/balls towards a smaller target ball. Read more here.
A spokesperson for the group said: "Bradford Council and Ilkley Town Council are both supportive, as are the U3A. We have the location and specification agreed and costed. The total cost will be c £8000 which we will need to raise.
"We would like to establish the number of players that might be interested, either in joining a Club or in playing on an ad hoc basis."
Anyone interested is asked to email IlkleyPetanque@gmail.com
