Phase two of plaza flower beds ready for planting

The second flower bed outside the Station Plaza is now ready for planting as Jo Jarvis from Improving Ilkley explains and how donations of plants and bulbs are welcome.

Jo told Ilkley Chat: "Good news! Phase two of the renovation of the flower beds outside station plaza is complete and now ready for planting this weekend. Improving Ilkley have kindly been gifted a selection of plants from Moss and Moor Garden Centre and Old Bridge Nursery will also be donating plants in the very near future.

"The flower beds are big and will need a considerable amount of plants to fill them! Ultimately all three beds will be planted up with perennials and bulbs to give all round colour and interest and vastly improve that area of town.

"As the gardening group have been working on the beds many people have expressed their delight in the changes and offered cash donations which we are not able to accept. However, if anyone feels they would like to donate a plant or any bulbs they would be very gratefully received. We only require perennial plants please."

Plants and bulbs can be brought to the flower beds this Sunday morning (8 August) between 8am and 11am, alternatively Jo is happy to collect them from you, please call 0776 195 7495.
