The team behind the Ilkley Scare Trails have announced they are joining forces with The Otley Zombie Apocalypse to create The Leeds Scare Trails!
The new event will take place over the Halloween weekend at Golden Acre Park, 20 minutes from Ilkley, and it is hoped to raise lots of money for local charities and good causes.
The Ilkley Scare Trail, run by Addingham Scouts, started in 2015 as a fundraiser for the Scouts’ trip to Switzerland and quickly became really popular attracting over 3000 people to Middleton Woods during Halloween.
Paul Jennings from The Scare Trails said “We’re really exited about joining up with with OZA, it’s going to be an amazing weekend and we’re hoping to build on the success of the Ilkley trail - we’re sad to be leaving Ilkley, but as the event has grown we needed to find a more accessible venue, it was becoming increasingly difficult to set up in the woods and make it inclusive for all.”
Donna from OZA said “The Otley Zombie Apocalypse team are super excited to be joining forces with Ilkley Scare trail! The two teams have a wealth of experience within the scare industry, and believe together we will create something incredible!” Chief Zombie Cheryl is delighted to finally announce the plans “We're really delighted to be joining forces with the Scare Trails, two experienced scare events who have raised thousands of pounds for charity now become one and will be moving forward to bigger and better things!”
As previous years there will be the Pumpkin Trail, which will be bigger, longer, with even more activities for all the family and of course the Frightmare Trail.
The Leeds Scare Trail will be held on 30 and 31 October at Golden Acre Park on the A660 Otley Road at Bramhope.
