Mr Fletcher retiring from Ben Rhydding Primary after 23 years

Ben Rhydding Primary School had announced that two teachers with 30 years’ service between them are retiring.


Mr Fletcher, one of the primary school’s beloved teachers, is retiring after serving the community for 23 years and prior to that, Ilkley Middle School.


A spokesperson for the school said: “His dedication towards educating the young minds of our children is truly commendable and has left an everlasting impression on everyone.


“As a school, we are incredibly grateful to have had such a committed, patient, and kind teacher like Mr Fletcher. He has touched the lives of many students, parents and fellow staff members over the years. As he embarks on his new journey of retired life, we want to show our appreciation and gratitude for his years of service. We would like to invite you all to share your fondest memories and well wishes for Mr Fletcher via this Google form https://forms.gle/wboaRpiLu6ktBKXs7 We believe that hearing from the community would be a fitting tribute and would mean a lot to him.


In addition, Mr Hartford is also retiring after seven years of dedicated service to the school: “As a community, we owe him a debt of gratitude for the tireless work he has put in, and the countless ways in which he has impacted the lives of our children. As Mr Hartford prepares to move on to the next phase of his life, we would like to invite all members of the community to contribute their memories, well wishes and messages of appreciation to him. Whether you are a teacher, parent, student or member of the wider community, your contributions are invaluable.
